Injury protection plans are also called "no-fault" insurance

While there are many kinds of car insurance plans available, in some States, protection of personal injury (PIP) is required by law. Also called "no-fault" coverage, such a policy of vehicles pay their limits for injuries suffered while driving.

A handful of States not decreed auto policies blame from the 1970s, and Michigan has no limit of how much will pay you for the costs of personal injury protection. Anyone who suffers a disability long term of a car accident in Michigan will have medical expenses and other claims paid for life. And that has made the State the most expensive in the country to ensure the vehicles in recent years.

Twelve States have such foreign policy laws in place with the intention of reducing the number of trials resulting from auto accidents. Regardless of which party is responsible for causing a collision injury, injury protection plans will provide automatic payment leaving up to insurers to determine if they seek redemption through legal means.

Unfortunately, these insurance plans have stimulated a lot of abuses and crimes through fraud. Policy limits may be as high as $250,000 by injury to more than one person involved in a motor vehicle accident. And criminals have created elaborate plans to defraud insurers of car in some States collisions and sending to potential victims to medical professionals real or fake invoices by healthcare than ever were needed or provided.

Compulsory no fault insurance law exists in Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts and Michigan. Other States with such laws are Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Dakota of the North, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Washington State. In each, the average car insurance rate is usually much higher than in those with standard auto laws.

But even in those States, laws can vary greatly. Maryland, Texas and Washington State allow motorists to give up the protection of injury in favour of standard vehicle coverage. And although it is not necessary in 38 States, personal injury protection policies can be purchased in many of them, although many drivers choose more standard plans.

A benefit of PIP coverage is rates generally do not increase due to a demand which arose for injury payments. And that can be a comfort for people involved in collisions causing injuries that otherwise could have landed them in a courtroom and face potentially expensive legal action. And while rates are usually higher with PIP coverage, knowing that there is less likely to be sued comfort to many motorists, making it bearable additional costs.
